Natural History

Marsh creek

The North and South Rivers and their watersheds are home to a diverse variety of habitats and species. Whether you paddle, walk, or even just stop and look, there is always something beautiful and interesting to see, and the more you learn about the natural history of the watershed, the more gratifying it is to spend time observing it.

We have created fact sheets about some of our special habitats and species - feel free to download them and take them with you when you go out on the river. Each week we also try to feature an organism from the watershed as our "species of the week".
