July 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
NSRWA Walking Club – Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield
Saturday July 11, 2026
10:00-11:30 am
Join Walking Club Coordinator Steve French and Guest Host Martha McCarthy as we explore Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield on Saturday, July 11 from 10:00-11:30 am. Martha is a long time birder who loves to walk and birdwatch at Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary. In the spring you can find Martha counting herring for the NSRWA as they move up our rivers and streams to lay eggs for a new generation of fish. Martha recommends that you bring binoculars to take advantage of the birding opportunities on this walk.
Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary is 574-acre mixed habitat property owned and managed by Mass Audubon. It features 3.5 miles of trails through grasslands, woodlands and along the Green Harbor River. In addition, there are wildlife viewing blinds and an observation deck on the property making this a favorite destination for wildlife photographers.
The walk will start from the parking lot at the end of Winslow Cemetery Road in Marshfield, and travel over grassland and woodland paths as well as extensive boardwalks. There are very little elevation changes across the property.
While we love dogs. NSRWA’s walks are dog-free in consideration for all participants. Please leave your furry loved ones at home.
