NSRWA Walking Club – Driftway Conservation Park in Scituate
Saturday, May 9
10:00-11:30am

Join Walking Club Coordinator Steve French and Guest Host Liam Norton as we explore Driftway Conservation Park in Scituate on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00-11:30am. Liam is a dedicated biologist and educator based on the South Shore, with extensive experience in environmental education and conservation fieldwork. Specializing in Ornithology, he most recently worked as a Songbird Bander at Manomet Conservation Sciences and as a Shorebird Monitor Supervisor on Duxbury Beach.

Driftway Conservation Park is comprised of 334 acres along the Herring River, a tributary of the North River. There are 1.65 miles of interconnecting trails including the A. J. McEachern Memorial Trail. The park’s varied habitats and proximity to the salt marsh and river make it a great location to look for great blue herons, great egrets, kingfishers, ospreys and bald eagles. The month of May offers additional opportunities to see migrating shore birds and warblers.

The walk is over flat paved, gravel and sand paths with no significant elevation changes.

While we love dogs. NSRWA’s walks are dog-free in consideration for all participants. Please leave your furry loved ones at home.

Directions: Parking is available at Driftway Conservation Park, 251 Driftway in Scituate, with overflow parking across the street. Look for the NSRWA Event sign.
