Saturday, August 8, 2026
10:00-11:30 am

Join Walking Club Coordinator Steve French to explore Forge Pond Park in Hanover on Saturday, August 8 from 10:00-11:30am. Steve is a Field Teacher for Mass Audubon, where he leads walks and presentations over much of southeast Massachusetts. In addition, he leads monthly nature walks for the Hanson Library and helps the Hanson Conservation Commission with trail work.

Forge Pond Park is a 40-acre multi-use area in Hanover with athletic fields and access to over 6 miles of interconnected paved and woodland trails. The main section of the park includes a 1-mile paved trail around the perimeter that is ideal for walking, jogging and wheelchair use. Along this trail are access points with signage for additional trails including French’s Stream Trail, Clark Bog Trail, the Summer Street Conservation Lands, and Old Rockland Fireworks Loop Trail.

The walk will start from parking lot C and include the Clark Bog Trail as well as the Old Rockland Fireworks Loop Trail. We will travel over flat woodland roads and paths with no elevation changes.
