NSRWA Walking Club – Forge Pond Park in Hanover
Saturday, February 14, 2026
10:00-11:30am
Join Walking Club Coordinator Steve French as we explore Forge Pond Park in Hanover on Saturday, February 14 from 10:00-11:30. Steve is a Field Teacher for Mass Audubon where he leads walks and presentations over much of southeast Massachusetts. In addition to his Mass Audubon activity, he leads monthly nature walks for the Hanson Library and helps with trail work for the Hanson Conservation Commission.
Forge Pond Park is a 40-acre multi-use area in Hanover with athletic fields and access to over 6 miles of interconnected paved and woodland trails. The main section of the park includes a 1-mile paved trail around the perimeter that is ideal for walking, jogging and wheelchair use. Along this trail are access points with signage for woodland trails including French’s Stream Trail, Clark Bog Trail, the Summer Street Conservation Lands, and Old Rockland Fireworks Loop Trail.
The walk will start from parking lot C and include the Clark Bog Trail as well as the Old Rockland Fireworks Loop Trail. We will travel over flat woodland roads and paths with no elevation changes.
While we love dogs. NSRWA’s walks are dog-free in consideration for all participants. Please leave your furry loved ones at home.
Directions: Parking is available at Forge Pond Park 245 King St in Hanover. Look for the NSRWA Event sign once you enter the park. Use either parking lot C or the pavilion parking lot.
The Walking Club is looking for guest hosts. If you would like to lead a walk on a local trail that you love, please contact Kezia Bacon at kezia@nsrwa.org, or visit our website.
