The town of Marshfield, like Plymouth and Duxbury before them, is considering a ban on single-use plastic bags. There is current state legislation being considered on the topic, but there is no guarantee it will pass. Rather than wait for the state to act, Marshfield is trying join the other 56 Massachusetts cities and towns that have moved ahead on their own. NSRWA is in support of Marshfield’s efforts. You can read more about the proposal in this Globe article and you can also get more information from this Mariner article from August. We will be hosting a panel discussion and excerpts from “Bag It: The Movie” as part of our WaterWatch Lecture Series starting in January. Email us if you would like to get involved with this effort.
