Geoff Gordon grew up in Norwell, spending many summer days swimming near Chittenden Lane or Bridge Street, and fishing the Third Herring Brook. He attended Norwell schools and Bowdoin College, and after a few years in other places, returned to Norwell after getting married to his wife, Kay, over 35 years ago.

Geoff worked with his father, Andy Gordon – whose favorite childhood spot was messing about at “turtle rock” on the North River, above Rocky Reach near the Norris Reservation boathouse. Gordon Insurance became Gordon Atlantic Insurance a few years ago and has been a member and corporate supporter of the NSRWA for as long as anyone remembers.

In the winter, Geoff enjoys alpine back country skiing; in spring, fishing in Canada when he’s not on the North River or on the ocean, and in summer hiking the White Mountains in New Hampshire where he and Kay relax in their off-grid log cabin to recharge. Geoff enjoys hunting in the fall, locally mostly. All year round, Geoff serves on a few non-profit and for-profit boards.

In addition to his insurance agency business, Geoff teaches Strategic Planning and Talent Development for the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, a national educational credentialing organization for the insurance industry. While this separate job takes Geoff all over the country, he is convinced that the land and water here on the South Shore is as pristine, accessible, and beautiful as anywhere in the country. It’s worth protecting.
