Ever wonder who’s been trekking through your backyard while you were warm and cozy inside? It’s time to play nature detective! Grab your boots and become a Winter Animal Tracker. Head out into the outdoors to decode the secret language of the snow. From the tiny “zipper” tracks of mice to the bounding leaps of foxes and the mysterious wandering of deer, every print tells a story!

Look for tracks and try to identify the species. Think about the habitat, is it close to water? What animals would call this habitat home? Try to figure out the direction of travel. Is it alone or in a group? Nature doesn’t stop over winter. The snow tells a story, try to figure it out!
