Posted on February 28, 2018November 18, 2019 by Lori

The riverbank is now a nearly contiguous stretch of conservation land. There’s the 225-acre North River Sanctuary, the Mass Audubon headquarters on Route 3A, near the river mouth, and then a little […]

Posted on December 19, 2017April 24, 2019 by Lori

Before Mass Audubon granted it permanent protection as a wildlife sanctuary, […]

Marshfield’s Bridle and Rail Trails

Posted on June 6, 2017April 25, 2019 by Kezia Bacon

by Kezia Bacon, Correspondent Marshfield is one of those towns where it isn’t always easy to get from Point A to Point B. The presence of four tidal rivers as well as a significant amount of conservation land can make crossing town an indirect endeavor. There is simply a lot of territory – salt marsh, […]

Posted on December 8, 2016April 25, 2019 by Kezia Bacon

NATURE (HUMAN AND OTHERWISE) by Kezia Bacon, Correspondent We’ve been awaiting this moment for more than 15 years. We’ve read about grant applications and land purchases. We’ve observed survey tape on trees, and witnessed trails being carved out of the forest. When red and blue blazes appeared at woodland intersections and signs went up in […]
